Benefi4Kids volunteers help out at 2008 NBC 25 Trophy Deer Pole
Each year NBC 25 with help from Jay’s Sporting Goods host a Trophy Deer Pole at the NBC 25 studios in Clio MI. This is available for anyone who would like to bring in and display your trophy each night from November 15th – 30th.  Each night there are drawings for 3 gift certificates from local supporters of the event in including Jay’s Sporting Goods.  At the end of the event, everybody that brought in a deer is registered for the grand prize drawing of a deer rifle with scope from Jay’s Sporting Goods.

Each night local restaurants keep the hunters and their families that visit the Trophy Deer Pole with hot treats from their restaurants inside the “warming tent”.  Different groups are also invited to help chief Meteorologist Mark Torregrossa hang the deer on the Trophy Deer Pole and this year Benefit4Kids helped out on November 16th and 22nd.  A big thanks goes out to Steve Hearing, Howard Sheridan, John Gornyecz, Al Baggett, Brett Whitman, Scott Paige, Lisa Paige and Matt Hill for their help this year.

B4K Welcomes New Board Members
Benefit4Kids would like to welcome the addition of 6 new members to the board of directors.  On June 28, 2008, these 6 new members were elected to join the remaining 6 members on the board to help guide Benefit4Kids into the next 10 years of growth and expansion.  None of the 6 new members are new to B4K and all have shown dedicated support and determination to help see B4K grow.  We are excited to have them on board and excited to gather their knowledge, various backgrounds, and their unique drive within to see B4K push forward and continue to brighten the lives and create invaluable memories to as many kids as we can continue to reach out to!

We would also like to thanks John McIntosh for his 6 years of service and dedication while serving on the Benefit4Kids Board.  After a long hard decision, John came to the hard decision it was time to step down and focus more of his time toward his family along with other obligations as well as it was time to make room for new members to step up.  John will not disappear and he assures us he will still be around supporting and helping B4K as much as possible.

Benefit4Kids Message Board
Benefit4Kids supporter Scott LaRoe has set up a message board where folks can visit to ask questions, read about upcoming Outdoor Wish trips, see our future plans for B4K and find out how they can help us help kids. Please take a moment to stop in and say "HI" and help us further spread the word about Benefit4Kids.

Benefit4Kids Receives 501(c)(3) Status
On 4-13-00 Benefit4Kids was officially granted 501(c)(3) status by the Internal Revenue Service. This will allow certain tax deductions to those making donations to Benefit4Kids. Anyone who has made a donation to Benefit4Kids in the previous 15 months may also be entitled to these tax breaks and should check with their accountant for more information. Granting of a 501(c)(3) is a lengthy process that serves to protect those making donations from false charities. At Benefit4Kids we are proud of the fact that we can account for all donations coming to Benefit4Kids and will gladly show where the funds we raise are distributed.

The Board of B4K would personally like to thank each and every person who has helped Benefit4Kids to become what it is today and what it will be in the future. Whether that assistance was in the form of equipment, money, moral support or prayers each and every contribution has helped us along the way.

May all of your quivers be full and the winds in your favor.
