Past Events
Dreamweaver & Big Jon Charity Fun Tournament - July 20, 2008
Benefit4Kids would like to thank
the West MI Fishing League, Dreamweaver Spoons, Big Jon, (among many
other sponsors), along with everyone that showed up to fish in this
years tournament to make this fundraiser a huge success! When all
said and done, over $4800 was raised and donated to Benefit4Kids to
sponsor Nick Wallace's "Outdoor Wish" trip to Alaska to fish for huge
Salmon the Kenai River in Alaska is known for!
Great Lakes Longbow
Invitational XXIV - August 8-10, 2008
Benefit4Kids would like to thank long time supporters, The
Michigan Longbow Association, for once again allowing us to be part of
this great event and for their donation. This years event brought in
just over $1600.00 to allow us to continue granting the "Outdoor
Wishes" of those children less fortunate than most, we work with on a
daily basis.
5th Annual Joe Vincent
Memorial Archery shoot - August 23-24, 2008
Benefit4Kids is excited to be part of this years event,
hosted by a new supporting club, Land O Lakes Bowmen in northern
Livingston
county. This weekend archery shoot brought in over 200
shooters throughout the Hot and Humid weekend. Just over
$1200.00 was raised throughout the weekend between the 17 target
Rinehart exotic animal shoot consisting of Dinosaurs, Jack-a-lopes,
poison frogs, giant king cobra snakes, etc that B4K set up and the
special auction held in which items were provided by Rocky's in
Burton Michigan.
11th Annual
Amy Pray Outdoor Weekend - June 21st & 22nd 2008
June 21st – 22nd
Benefit4Kids hosted the 11th Annual Amy Pray Outdoor
Weekend which proved to be another successful event, thanks to
everyone that sponsored a target, donated a raffle or auction item,
showed up to participate in the weekends activities, purchased a
raffle ticket or bought something in the live auction! We were able
to successfully raise over $17,000 which will go a long ways to help
us continue granting the “Outdoor Wishes” of the kids we work with.
Despite some early and midday rain on
Saturday, we had many people show up to camp and spend the entire
weekend with us, and many more just for the day to shoot one of the
archery courses or try their skills in one of the 3 shotgun events!
Everyone had smiles on their faces all day long…….even those that
got soaked as they were caught on the archery course near the back
of the property when the second storm came through! There were
numerous kids enjoying all the activities all weekend as well,
whether it was shooting a bow for the first time, trying their
skills at the SCI Laser Shot booth, shooting a paint ball gun, or
seeing who could eat a slice of watermelon the fastest at our newest
contest!
Saturday nights pig roast was one of the
best, and a huge Thank You is in order for the couple of members
that stepped up from Huron Pointe to donate their time and equipment
to prepare an excellent meal for everyone! Saturday night’s auction
ended with the famous “dunk the staff” auction, and after drying off
and gathering everyone around, we ended the night with our very
special log dedication campfire in which many laughs, tears, honors,
and memories were shared late into the night!
We were fortunate to
have had seven wish kids in attendance which included: Mark “the
brat” Golden, Justin Bradford, Michael Frame, Douglas Dobbs, Douglas
Lovell, Lauren Chisholm and Greg Kornacki. Benefit4Kids was able to
surprise one of the newest kids, Douglas Lovell, with news that he
would be going bear hunting in New Brunswick Canada this October,
something he has always dreamed about but never thought he could
do. Douglas had no idea that his mom had submitted the paperwork to
B4K, which made this even more of a surprise to him!
Benefit4Kids would like to send out a
special thank you to Huron Pointe Sportsmen’s Club for once again
donating their great facility, which makes holding this size of an
event possible, and allows Benefit4Kids to raise the much needed
funds which allow us to continue to do what we do. If it were not
for clubs such as Huron Pointe and its members who came out to lend
a hand whether it was in the kitchen, on the trap fields, or to
clean up the grounds and/or cutting grass prior to the event, this
weekend would not have been possible! If you live in S.E. MI and
are looking for something fun to do with the family, check out Huron
Pointe at
www.huronpointe.org and I’m sure one of their many activities
will interest you!
We would also like to send a special
thank you to this years sponsors: The Pig Pen Ranch (www.thepigpenranch.com),
Jay’s Sporting Goods (www.jayssportinggoods.com),
the Sportsman’s Warehouse (www.sportsmanswarehouse.com),
as well as all the individuals, companies, clubs, and organizations
that sponsored a target at this year’s event! Without the
tremendous support and donations from all these sponsors….this
year’s event would not have been as successful as it was!
Thank you again for the continued
support and generosity you have shown to B4K in 2008 which will
allow us to continue bringing the smiles to the faces of the kids we
work with, and warmth in their souls after living their “Outdoor
Wishes” and creating memories that will last their family a
lifetime!

3rd
Annual Spring Clay Buster May 10th, 2008
We would like to thank all those that
attended the 3rd Annual Spring Clay Buster Shotgun Shoot to enjoy a
beautiful day of shooting, while supporting our efforts to continue
granting the "Outdoor Wishes" of those kids awaiting a wish in 2008!
Although attendance was down, we had a great time and those that
showed up were generous enough to help us raise just under $800.00 for
the Outdoor Wish Program. We would also like to extend a special
thank you to the numerous members and officers of
Lapeer County Sportsmens
Club that came out to help make this fundraiser a success!
